20 Questions Spectacular by Madison Daniel and Sophie Davis

The 20 Questions Spectacular!!!
~ Sophie Davis VS Madison Daniel ~

1. Well hello there, Madison.  We’ll start off this game of 20 Questions with an easy one: How much of you is in Max, your protagonist in the Ember series?

Madison: Probably about 50% me, 50% rockstar superhero. Ember and the character of Max were the first things I created in literary form (back in 2008), and at the time, I was told to “write what you know...” Well, that’s what I did. And all I really KNOW is 80’s movies, comic books, music and the awkwardness of teenage angst. Ha.
Sophie I can totally picture you as Nicolas Cage in that 80’s cinematic masterpiece, Valley Girl ;)  Hahaha, I hope our readers look up the cover!  (kidding, kidding)

3. How about you, Sophie? How much of yourself goes into the stories you create?

Sophie.  Talia, the main character in Talented has some similarities, both physical and in personality.  But I have other characters that have a lot more of me in them, and some with a lot of my closest friends.

3. I know that Max has trouble choosing between the two female characters in Ember; how much of a ladies man were you in high school?

Madison: Hmmm...tough question. There were two versions of me back in school, the easy-going, soft-spoken, frontman to my local rock band AND then there was the shy, awkward, hopeless romantic, that just wanted to connect with that “one” special person. Let me put it this way, I looked like the kind of boy your father would hate for you to bring home, but was actually the exact kind of young man your parents always told you to look for. Basically, a ‘good boy’ in a ‘bad boys’ body.
Sophie: Haha, so a wolf in sheep’s clothing?  Nice.  Sounds like my kind of guy now, though back in those days I would have gone for the straight-up wolf.

 4. All right, describe your teenage experience in 10 words or less...GO. :)

Sophie:  Fun, embarrassing, bad decision making, some of my favorite years!

5. Tell us about your first girlfriend.

Madison: Enlightening, artistic, challenging and smelled like strawberries. That’s all you’re getting...hehehe.
Sophie: Strawberries… now why does that sounds familiar?  Ohhh, right, that’s Samantha from Ember’s scent…you heard it here first ladies- we found Madison’s kryptonite!

6. Tell us about your LAST relationship. BOOM.

Sophie:  It’s a tragic tale of love, Madison.  We first met in college, where we bonded over dirty dishes and pickles – we worked at a sandwich place.  I fell in love with his long hair and angry attitude, not sure what he saw in me, but I did wait tables in some very short shorts.  While it was obvious we both pined for the other, we never professed our love.  I left our small college town for D.C., while he headed south to warmer weather – Miami to be exact.  He married a Brazilian supermodel.  I got a Master’s degree.  He divorced the Brazilian supermodel.  I got a law degree.  And then if finally seemed like the right time to get together.  Unfortunately, our mutual attraction only existed in theory.  In reality, we had nothing in common.  So after a year of flying back and forth between DC and Miami, we parted ways.  Since then, only one boy sleeps in my bed, my Benji look-alike, Humphrey.

7. Who were you most nervous to have read your first book?

Madison: He hasn’t read it yet. So, I can’t answer that question just yet. BUT it’s always nerve-racking to show your words to your family.

8. What was the most surprising reaction you received after showing your work to the ones closest to you, good or bad?

Sophie:  My uncle called my mother to tell her how funny the first book was.  He said I must have a terrific sense of humor.  The only problem is, the book wasn’t supposed to be funny…

9. Do you have a writing outfit?  Do you get dressed every day when you’re working on a novel, or are you the ratty bathrobe, holey boxers type?

Madison: I’m definitely a jeans and T-shirts kind of guy. Casual, yet proper. Nothing feels as good as a nicely worn, old pair of jeans.

10. Your perfect location to work, write, and play...the beach? Or the park?

Sophie:  The beach.  I recently went to a destination wedding in St. Croix and I spent the majority of my time sitting on the beach with my HUGE laptop, writing.  It was the best week of my life.

11. What was it like writing from the perspective of a teenage girl?

Madison: I love it. I’ve only done it a little bit, in the Ember series. BUT I’m actually working on an all new series from the perspective of a teenage girl. Honestly, I think boys and girls are fundamentally made up of all the same ingredients. Fear, love, acceptance and the joy of discovering something new. We just process those ideas a little differently, that’s all.

12. What’s your favorite character emotion to write about in your stories?

Sophie:  Hmmmm.  Hard one.  Oddly I’m going to say anger.  I think about every time the parking attendants ticket my car at 7:01 (it has to be moved at 7:00am for street cleaning), just as I am running outside in my pajamas to move it, and I put all of that frustration at the parking people into my characters.

13. How have you found the transition from writing songs to writing out whole novels?  Did any of your books start as songs, but then you realized that the story needed to be told in depth?

Madison: They’re quite different. There is a similarity in the layout and structure building though. My song writing is usually based around the song title or the groove or hook of the song AND I’ve found that my stories come to me the same way. Either a title sets me in the direction of the story I am writing or the main plot twist or hook decides the path I choose. Great question!

14. Any favorite bands? Songs? Music inspiration?

Sophie:  Definitely the Foo Fighters; I even traveled across the pond last fall just to see them play at the Reading Festival!  They played a three-hour set and I was in heaven.  I’ve also been known to rap Biggie Smalls in some of my finer moments.  In general, though, I listen to a lot of different music for inspiration when I write.  I have playlists for books, scenes, characters, you name it.

15. What are the worst song lyrics you’ve ever written?

Madison: Ha. Probably something to do with “big butts.” Just kidding. :)
Sophie: Those other brothers can’t deny…

16. Any literary crushes? Favorite authors or books?

Sophie:  I don’t think I have any literary crushes right now- that special place in my heart reserved for character crushes is all Agent Derrick Morgan from Criminal Minds.  Favorite authors, hmm, there are a lot.  Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Mary Higgins Clark are my old standbys.  I read just about any new book they put out, regardless of whether it sounds good.

17. What is your biggest quirk?

Madison: I’m a bit of a gadget whore. I’m always chasing after the newest electronics. I think it has something to do with all the pretty lights! I’m also addicted to eyedrops. The stronger the better. Not too weird, I hope.
Sophie: Me too!  My best friend and I always crack up about the ridiculous number of chargers we have to pack every time we take a trip.  It’s a far cry from when we backpacked around Europe, carrying around paperbacks and –gasp!- sans cell phones.  As for the eyedrops… yeeeah, totally normal…

18. What’s the nicest thing you’ve ever done for a complete stranger?

Sophie:  Wow, really making me dig deep for this one.  I guess the nicest thing I’ve ever done for a complete stranger is pay for difference when she didn’t have enough money for the bill at Target.

19. If you had a helicopter, what would you name it?

Madison: Easy! “THE REAPER!” Why? Because when someone says they’re scared to fly in my chopper I can jump up and scream... “DON’T FEAR THE REAPER!” That would rock! No? Okay then, how about “Hank.” Yah, I like Hank. Come fly the friendly skies with me and Hank. Word.
Sophie: Best. Answer. Ever.  Definitely stick with the first one- more cowbell, anyone?

20. If I offered to fly you anywhere in my helicopter, where would you like to go the most?

Sophie:  Can you take a helicopter from here to Switzerland?  My favorite place in the world is Interlaken, Switzerland.  You can run off the top of an Alp with a parachute and spend 10 minutes just floating down.  You can also be pushed off of one in a big rubber ball- it’s called Zorbing- but I drew the line at that.

Sophie, I just wanted to take a second to thank you for sharing your thoughts with me and our readers. This interview was a blast! You’ve been fantastic to get to know. I see great and epic things ahead for you. I’m sure your fans think the same. Let’s do this again! Write on! Rock on!
~ M

Thanks Madison!  And thank you for taking the time to answer my questions; we’ll definitely have to do it again.  I wish you continued success with your books and music!

Pulse by H.J Daly Blog Tour

BOOK DESCRIPTION
She looked into their non-existent faces and felt them smile in anticipation.

The light is fading fast and Esa must find shelter before the deviants come crawling out of the woodwork. From the moment she steps into the darkened room her life takes a terrifying turn and she is pulled away from her post apocalyptic world.

With a horde of goblins close on her heels, she enters a magical realm in search of answers. Why can she sense magic and why is a powerful sorcerer determined to end her life?

Excerpt
Esa tasted the blood in her mouth and the sting across her face. Fog clung to her mind and she tried to concentrate.
“Let’s try again. What does she look like?”
“Me, only not as pretty.” Spitting blood from her mouth Esa managed a smirk.
“Now that’s the girl I remember, pity Thomas isn’t here to see this. Wonder where he’s hiding?”
“I don’t know.” Her tone was full of bitterness as she let numerous images pop into her head. She would die here and he would never know, would never care.
“Oh, this just gets better.” Amy broke into Esa’s thoughts. “He dumped you here with this lot, it’s a shame I don’t have time for some real fun.” The tip of the dagger glowed when she pulled it from the fire and watched the prisoners heave at their bindings. “Tell you what,” she whispered in Esa’s ear, “once I’m through here, I’ll find Thomas tell him how you begged and screamed his name before Urgath had a little fun and then I’ll have great pleasure in watching him die.” She watched the pain fill Esa’s eyes and smiled. “Now where were we … ah yes, tell me where she is.”
Amy grabbed Esa’s bound hand, pulling her fingers forward. She braced herself as the blade touched her skin, the heat searing her knuckles. This time only a moan escaped her lips. She was too exhausted for anything else.
    “I said where is she?”
The blade continued down her already bloody arm. Heat rose together with the scream that had been building in her throat. The prisoners moved as one, twisting and turning as they fought with the guards as best they could.
Ignoring her own pain Esa watched the other prisoners as the guards started to push them back. Even bound they gave all they could and in return the guards had drawn weapons and were hacking at those closest to them. She couldn't let these people die for her, she didn't deserve it. “Stop!” the shout carried over the clearing. “Enough, I’ll tell you everything just stop this. Please.”
“Esa no, don’t say a word, we’re not worth it,” Flo yelled as the guards continued to slash away.
“Stop!” Amy’s shout resounded around the clearing and the guards backed off. “Is this going to be something special?” Amy’s blade rested playfully on Esa’s throat and she could smell the burning of her own skin. “This will make a nice addition to the others,” Amy continued as she swiped Esa’s hair to the side and indicated to the snaking scar twisting around her neck. “That must have been a mighty beating. You’re always in the wrong place at the wrong time, aren't you?”

Excerpt
He faded in and out of consciousness. Sound, light, and movement blended together until he couldn’t tell one from the next. Coherent thought was impossible; fragments of ideas filtered in then slipped through the sieve of his mind. He was weak, dehydrated, and starving.

The one consistent concept he was able to grasp was his name. Brennan Miles. The name he had given himself. Simple, strong, normal; all qualities that he longed for. He no longer remembered his real name, just as he no longer remembered anything before he’d come to the institute.

The few who had ever met him took one look at his stocky build, and thought he looked plenty strong. He could see it in the way they looked at him with a mix of awe and fear. But he wasn’t strong in the way that he wanted to be. At the moment, he wasn’t even physically strong. They’d kept food and his supplements from him for over seventy-six hours - the longest period to date. Water was the only offering and even that had been the bare minimum. They wanted to see how powerful his need would be when triggered.

He had seen how intense his need could be and what it could drive him to do. All those other times, though, he had been in prime condition - healthy and agile. In his current state, he doubted he would be able to lift his head, much less give in to the power of his unnatural instinct. The doctor would be disappointed.

Serves him right, he thought.

Brennan heard the swish of the door open and close. His acute sense of smell instantly recognized the scent of Doctor Shinto and that of a stranger. Repulsion and hate flowed through his veins. The voices of his visitors drifted in and out. They spoke about him as if he weren’t there. He was just an object, an experiment. He wanted to lash out and crush the doctor. He wanted to give in to his need here and now, but with his ankles shackled and his wrists bound, he would do no such thing. Even if he had been unrestrained, he doubted that he could stand up, let alone end Doctor Shinto’s unconscionable life in his current condition. Instead, he let his head loll against the back of his chair and listened to the conversation at hand.

“Don’t get too close, Mr. Champlain. He can smell us. I don’t want him to be tempted.”

“Tempted, huh?” Champlain said, “he’s restrained and looks to be half dead. What threat could he be?”

Dr. Shinto spoke methodically. “He’s been without supplement or food for over 3 days. He’s had only 50ccs of water daily. He is extremely weak and dangerously dehydrated and will go into hypovolemic shock if he doesn’t get what he needs very soon.”

His voice was devoid of concern. The only inflection was a breathless excitement revealing the delight he took in his work.

Interview with Melissa Ringsted

Jodie: Derinda....are you eating?? Did you just pull that meat pie out of you pocket?
Derinda: Yes and it is not a meat pie...it's a hamburger Jodie....LOL
Jodie: But you had it in your pocket ewwwwwww
Derinda: I didn't want to eat it during our interview with a famous Editor, so I brought a snack. Where was I going to keep it hidden?
Jodie: Well, at least wipe the mayo off your mouth, gosh! Derinda, do you think she edited our questions?
Derinda: Of course she did, I've never seen our questions look so great and proper hahahahaha

*Knock Knock*

Derinda: Come on in Melissa!
Jodie: Can I offer you a drink?
Melissa: No, thank you...

Derinda: Thank you Melissa for joining us, could you tell us a little about yourself?
Melissa: I am the mother of two children, owner/editor of There for You Editing Services, and Vice President of Anchor Group Publishing. I was also recently inducted into the National Association of Professional Women.

Jodie: What or whoooo ummmm...
Melissa stands up....
Derinda: Ummm Melissa we weren't finish, are you leaving?
Melissa: Oh no, I am just plugging in my scentsy, now what was your question Jodie?

Jodie: uummm oh yes, What or who inspired you to become an Editor?
Melissa: I have always loved to read, from as far back as I could remember, but I can't write to save my life. I briefly tried to be a photojournalist, but when you can't write it's slightly harder! I can't say one particular thing inspired me to become an editor, but I can truly say I love it.

Derinda: Do you feel having an Editor is value to an Author? If so why?
Melissa: I feel like having an editor is very valuable to an author, not only because we know what to look for, but also because it's a fresh set of eyes. Most people don't fix their own car or cure themselves of disease, so why not use an editor who is trained to look for certain problems, offer advice, or help to make your work shine?

Derinda: Recently I ask through a post on YATR, if anyone had any questions for you. Would you mind responding to their questions?
Melissa: I would love too, but first can you tell me something?
Derinda: Sure
Melissa: Do you like my new hair cut?
Jodie: *Sqeeeek* I love it....so freakin cute
Derinda: I adore the color!!!
(Melissa grins....)

Derinda: Ok so here we go

Lisa Morgan, the Author of Maggie Henning and the Realm Series would like to know: What's the most common error you have come across?
Melissa: The most common error I have come across is the correct usage of punctuation/capitalization in character speak. For example, most people will commonly write: "Please don't leave me." He begged. The correct version is actually: "Please don't leave me," he begged.

Christina Silcox PA for R.K Ryals asks: How do you feel when you have an editing "nightmare" on your hands? I know that's what you are being paid to do, but do you ever worry that you will upset the author by changing too much?
Melissa: I worry all the time I will upset the author, even when it's a "clean" manuscript. The author has poured their blood, sweat, and tears into the MS, so you never know how they'll accept the corrected version. I try to forewarn them, and explain it really does happen to almost everyone.

Jodie: psssst Derinda, do you think she will share some of that fruit she is cooking over there in that cooker thingy?
Derinda: *snickers* Jodie, that is not a cooker. It's a scentsy burner to make your house smell good.
Jodie: WOW its smells so good I could eat it!

Zed Whisper Writer/Blogger/Reader: What strange thing have you learnt that's in common with most writers?
Melissa: No matter how many time a writer reads, and rereads, their MS, they will miss something. This is not their fault, but simply the fact that the brain will make you see what's not there to make it easier. For example, small segue way words, such as it, was, there, his, the brain will fill in for you.

Teebs Malik: What's the best way to edit yourself?
Melissa: The best way to edit yourself is to (a) step away from your work for a few days, then revisit it (b) print out the MS and reread (c) know your common errors, such as there vs their, and write the correct version on a piece of paper, and leave it by your computer to remind yourself as you write (d) use beta readers, someone with a strong opinion, not just a friend who will rave about how good it was.

Katherine Pegg Eccleston an aspiring Editor: What advice would you give someone who wants to start working as an editor?
Melissa: Train with a current editor, beta read frequently, take as many online courses as you can, invest in the Chicago Manual Style of Editing book to refer to.

Jessi Badrick: How does one balance dialogue and description?
Melissa: That is a little more difficult, as everyone has a different style of writing. You should never have too much of either, so as you edit yourself try to "separate" yourself, paying strict attention to your dialogue vs. description.

Derinda: Can you list some of the Authors in which you have edited?
Melissa: Elizabeth Marx, Stacey Rourke, Dawn Gray, Amy Richie, Lucian Barnes, Elise Marion. I edited close to 100 books in 2012. On the There for You facebook page there are covers for most of the books on display.

Jodie: What is one thing most, you would love for the world to know about you?
Melissa: I really enjoy making a book "shine" and be the best it can be. I am ecstatic when I have a repeat client, or if an author contacts me to rave about a good review they received, which stated how well edited the book was.

Jodie and Derinda: (bobbles our heads in awe!!) Thank you so much for joining us today Melissa. You are one inspiring person to us.
Melissa: Thank you very much for having me. If anyone would like to get in touch with me, you can find me at the these links.

Awakenings by Hally Willmott

Awakenings by Hally Willmott COMING May 2013

Synopsis:

When sixteen-year old Jacey Adison’s parents tell her they must move again, she has never questioned their life style. Until now. When Jacey was two, her parents fled the protection of their birthplace, the mystical dimension of Nemele. Leaving was the only solution her parents believed might allow them to keep their family together and alive.

The Adisons have been running from a sect of iniquitous beings from Nemele who covet Jacey. Her parents have repressed their adversaries’ relentless tracking efforts by not utilizing their own mystical powers. They have chosen to conceal themselves within the only realm they knew they’d be able to survive. They are living under their self-imposed powerless sanctions on Earth, which constitutes the nineteenth nation of Nemele.

Her parents have never revealed their true identities to Jacey, consequently keeping her true lineage and unique birthright from her. Jacey’s family has pretended to be non-magical humans as a ploy to prevent an ancient omnipotent entity from killing more innocent beings in its relentless quest to possess Jacey.

Born as an anomaly, Jacey possesses rare abilities that both virtuous and corrupt entities seek to use as their own. Should either side prevail, Jacey may be the saviour or downfall of every world within Nemele’s domains. Blindly thrust into life and death situations, Jacey learns of her true powers within her dreaming and conscious states.

Exalted By Ella James

A complete four course meal with this series!!!!

Ella James, just gave us all a "White Light Special"

The Author ended this series with a flippin BANG! May I suggest when you start to read this book. You make sure you are completely emptied of all responsibilities. Or you will find yourself wondering what the H-E-double-L is going on. The scenes are flipped from one perspective to another. This book is filled with so much intense action. You almost feel like your heart or kindle is going to catch fire. So it is important to have actual time to read and concentrate, because you do NOT want to MISS anything.

Where you left off with Cayne being taking away in Chosen. This book picks up from precisely where he wound up. You will be shaking once you find out where he is at. However, when you find out who his daddy is, that is when you will want to pee your pants!

Now think about Julia, and who has introduced himself to her, as her daddy! Let me say, we should definitely call him "Daddy Dearest" instead of wire hangers, he uses white light. Holy smokes. Poor Julia, still having no clue who she can trust and who she can not trust. Truthfully as a reader, I had no clue either. The Author has a way of making it feel like Julia has been betrayed. Then twisting the situation around to be for Julia's benefit. If that makes any sense! I guess the best way to understand what I am talking about, would be to read this book!!!

In this book we have all the same characters and still loving them. What did you say Nathan, you made a mistake???? Rut Roh!!!!! Adam, you're what.....you did what....WTC....!!! We have more Authorities and Demons join in. Can anyone say they didn't enjoy Lille or Noelle. Because I certainly did!!! At last we get introduced to the Adversary and Methuselah. I will not even begin to tell you about these two. This is a must read series!

So to sum this review up. You will experience passion, intense action, you will have giggles (pink wings). Your heart will feel like it is about to explode. You will even shed tears. Which I totally was thrown for a loop with the whole "Meredith" thing. Still contemplating on PM'ing the Author on that one! Luckily she made up for it by giving us a great piece of closure, with a glimpse into Cayne and Julia's future. So in love with her for that!!!!

**I hate that I can't promise you anything** Cayne

Knotted Roots: by Ruthi Kight

I absolutely loved this book! This book is full of endearing moments, great laughs and most of all some wonderful lesson's on life. Once you open it up and start reading the first page, you find yourself reading the last page. Ruthi Kight has did it people. She has given us a wonderful book full of magic, without having any magic involved :)

Roxie, a very spoiled brat from the city has to go spend a summer on a farm with her grandmother. I must tell you though, she has never even met this grandmother. Rut Roh! Before up rooting however, she is hit with heartaches from her parents and friends. Kight has gave us beautiful description and flawless flow of story line. The only thing I will tell you for sure, is I wanted to choke Roxie over and over but loved her. Loved Grandma, and adored Chase! The Author even went close to the boarder of making me blush! The banter between Roxie and Chase was perfect, edgy and kept me wanting so much more. Chase, even with turmoil of his own was a wonderful loving character. Another thing I adored about this Author, was the description of details. I so want to live on the farm. We all know how I LOVE cowboys!!!!! Someone grab me a pitchfork PLEASE

Now ask yourself this, Can you replace name brand clothes and handbags with coveralls and still be happy? What about trading your expensive heals for crapper boots? Will the smell of cow manure be better then city air? The important question is, does Roxie stay or go? Does she choose to stay with her Grandma and Chase? Or does she return to her city life. Did I mention a tragic sadness that hits Roxie. Well then I guess you know what to do...READ THIS BOOK

A beautifully written love story with emotions, trials and tons of wisdom. A book about hope and promise if you can change the way of life as you know it. A starvation for love. Well done Ruthi Kight, please tell me there is another.

Shattered Grace by K. Anne Raines

Extraordinary debut novel by Raines.

This Author is so brilliant with her words and descriptions. Look out Lauren Kate…you have big competition on the rise. Absolutely amazing!! Would it be weird of me to describe this book as being an emotional packed contemporary, slammed with paranormal?

This story is brilliantly written and unique. I have yet to read a story like it as far as Angels and Nephilim working together to protect an object of importance from falling in the wrong hands. Starting the story with the death of Grace's grandfather, poor Grace is introduced to a life she never dreamed about. Do not underestimate Grace in any way! The Author made this character to be real with high emotions and incredible strength. As the story is weaved together flawlessly, we get introduced to Mr. Holy Hotness, Quentin. *sigh*. Oh, but wait, this Author also throws in Mr. Ripe and Ready, Darius. One of the things that I did admire was that Grace had chosen who she wants and doesn't deter from him. I personally wanted it to go another way, but no matter how much I yelled, "Are you crazy? Look at him!!" Grace was headstrong and determined in her choice.

Another thing I loved about this book was the placement of anticipation. Sometimes when you are expecting the big boom, you read as though any minute the book with shatter into pieces. The not knowing when, but knowing it is coming, places you at the edge of your seat until your legs start shaking, trying to keep you upright. We also were introduced to so many wonderful characters that are a big part of this story. Each one has such important attributes of their own. One of my favorites was sweet Lux. Then there is Amanda….poor broken girl. Will she be able to handle her own battles and what important part does she have to play in this story?

This book gripped me right away and took me for a whirlwind ride. There is no cliff-hanger, however you are left with a want-hanger LOL.

If you haven't read this book. Get it read and devour it. You will laugh, cry, and love throughout the entire book. If you want to know what I mean when I say "Will hope be unbounded?" read this awesome book and find out for yourself.

Games of Fire by Airicka Phoenix

Flipping flapjacks Airicka Phoenix has blown my mind once again!

This book I shamelessly bought for only 99 cents. If this book doesn't go #1 I would let anyone of you come in my house and take ALL my chocolate. Get it now, while you have the chance and read it. That way when she is one of New York Times best sellers....you can sqeeek and jump up and down saying you know her. This books is so refreshingly realistic. Such a captivating read, it left me powerless to do anything else, but read. This Author has masterfully created a novel that will totally and utterly blow you away. From the depth of the characters, and the realization of actual story line. Holy smokes! This is one of them books that will have you walking outside bare naked and not care who sees you because you just can not care long enough to put the book down.

"Beware of surprises that come with gloom" Grandma Valdez

This book is hard to describe without giving to much away. But I will tell you, that this book will have you laughing so hard, you will have to rush to the bathroom or wear depends LOL. In the same book you will be crying, longing and begging for Spencer to take his clothes off. Screaming at Sophie to open her legs. Also you will start to have panic attacks....more when you see the words *Found You*

***"He practically had a Your mother did warn you stamp on his forehead right next to the Yes, I do taste as good as I look"***

**It was quickly becoming apparent that the ass gene did not stray far in his family.**

Those are just glimpses of the giggles you will have. This book is so delightfully descriptive and full of humor. Then just when you are so happy and excited about things as they progress. Your heart will start thumping, your legs will start shaking.....Phoenix places so much fear in you solely by her words. Without even realize that this fear had start in the beginning and erupts towards the end. OMG. I can NOT express to you, the way Phoenix can placate you one minute and the next minute installed so much fear, that you find yourself looking around, evaluating your own friends.

Once again this Author has proven, why she is one of my favorites

Gabriel's Hope by Lizzy Ford

Let me start off by saying sqeeeek Lizzy Ford I love you!!! This book I just finish was perfect!!!! It flowed so well with the Rhyn Trilogy, I can not even explain it. So many times “spin off’s” are often hard to comprehend or follow at first but not this one. This was absolutely designed precisely to go with the Rhyn Trilogy perfectly!

I remember when I first seen this cover, the first thing that came to mind and out my mouth was I so desperately want to polish his "Scythe" with my (looks around and whispers) tongue. But people right now I would like to polish a lot more then just his "Scythe" if you know what mean :) If you didn't love him in the Rhyn Trilogy, you will definitely love him now....who knows you might even lust him...*wink* Once again we are filled with secrets, love, action and discoveries. Oh YES and surprises....wait till you read who is in this book. The way Lizzy Ford utilizes the past, present and future by twisting and turning them to make a story full of events with a magical explanation for everything. Did I mention that I am enthralled with Fords books hahahhaa!!!

One thing I did notice in this book, that it flowed flawlessly. The words were blended with such a wonderful smoothness, you were at the end of the book before you realized it. I love how she continually keeps Rhyn and Katie in the story. Well in fact she keeps all the same characters in this book. Adding big surprises throughout the book that you will flip your wig over! Did I already mention how yummy Gabriel was in this book Or the fact that I am totally aching to read more about him ♥ As always Ford also throws in her teeth clenching endings, that makes you want to strangle her. I simply adore Lizzy Ford and her amazing story telling. I will be a dedicated follower till the end of her journey as an Author, putting her books on my first to buy list, first on my read list!!!

So if you want amazing, gripping, powerful, suck the life out of you READS, buy her books!

Light of the World by Tara Brown

“My” personal opinion Tara Brown is a breath of fresh air!

She created and twisted and put her own stamp on it!

I have read a lot of books. Seriously, I have never heard, read about or imagined the things that await you on the pages. But that is just me!

Rayne, I am just going to say the name. My mouth hanging open, sitting here picking jaw off of the floor! Tara Brown pinned us one of the most originals books ever! Every page she weaves, then she tangles it just a bit more.. I loved every attribute of each one of these characters. I didn't know rather I wanted to be sucked dry by Constine or Burned to death by Wyatt. I would take both given the opportunity LOL

Poor Rayne is thrown into a life she would of never dreamed to be in. She thought college was a tough decision. You have no idea! whew!! What do you do when you find out that you have been born before and Rayne is born for a purpose. It cannot be reincarnated to fall in love with her soul mate. NO way, nope Rayne has such a huge destiny, that will be hard to alter. Will she die trying? Well people I will tell you this much, she dies every time she sleeps! I was so enthralled with this book that I couldn't put it down. The characters are complex and rich with histories to learned. We meet Angels, Nixies, Van Helsings, Fae, Witches, and Lucifer. Each page just gives you more.

We have action, humor, love and mystery. You will slammed with questions that will get answered as the story goes along. It keeps you twisting and turning until the end... Next book? When? Date please, you will be in big trouble.. lol! I did find in a chapter or two that it seemed to jump in time, but it was minor and did not hinder the story. Great job Tara Brown! I am excited for everyone to enjoy this book, and add Tara Brown to your list of favorite Authors!!!

**The giant carrot shoved in my ass prevents me from turning around to see if him and his friends are laughing at me. Thank god it’s a big campus.**

**I fight my WTF Face**

The Rhyn Trilogy by Lizzy Ford

I have said that books they draw my emotions are good, this was excellent! The complexity of the characters are astounding. Ms.Ford has brought us a story of 7 immortals, 1000 year old baby angel, and our dear Katie. Now throw in death and her assassin and we have a story! All of this pales in comparison to the nasty vile Sasha! What a wonderful series she has created for us.

Who could imagine that getting pulled over by the cops could have started on this path. When the everyday meets Magic and Katie's life changes in the blink of an eye. All at once she is thrown into a life where she is a mother of a 5 years old and no idea how that has happen. Yes you read that correctly.. blink and clear your eyes. She has a child, that everyone in her life knows about but her. WTC!!! You figure that out. Katie begins to fall in a spiral that she will soon find herself trapped in Hell. Oh MY! WAIT I need to tell you, Toby which is Katie's 5 year old son just happens to be besties with Death's Assassin Gabe. Keeping up with me? Are you dying here .. Trust me! Keep reading:-) This is all part of the intriguing journey that's filled with confusion, drama and monsters. Katie she faces all these bizarre changes in her life, will eventually meet some people only dreams create. Torture and horrible things. all of this and then she will meet Rhyn.

This series is going to take you for a ride that you have never been on before. Characters you will love and hate .. Torture and I cannot even begin to do this justice.

So my advice, is not to sit in the world you feel comfortable in, but jump into Katie's world and live through her. Your enjoyment will be so much better. Have patience with this amazing story. The 1000 questions that you will form, will all be answered in time. Also a note to readers, Lizzy Ford has given us one more fantastic bit, she is continuing The Rhyn series. YAY So just when you think you will get no more of what you desire most BAM she writes Gabriel's Hope.

I do not know if you seen the cover but man you will want to polish his scythe with your....ummmm your towel....yes that would be the right thing to say. LOL. Listen to me, read it and you will not regret it.

I want to add a special thanks to Bree Foster-High

Elfin by Quinn Loftis

My Elfin Word! Quinn Loftis has done it again!

I would like to start off this review telling everyone how worried I was when this Author announced she was actually writing a series about Elves. Matter of fact, I think I said something like "WTC?”! What about Dec? How are you going to write about a little green twerp with pointed ears, after writing a great series of gorgeous werewolf guys?" The Grey Wolves was one of my favorite series; I cannot even think how she would possibly be able to top it.

Well guess what the Author did? She wrote a book about Elves. BUT there were no little green twerps at all. As a matter of fact there was a very HOT bad boy elf named Trik. Trik is a dark elf Assassin, who works with none other than the King of The Dark Elves. I can see this guy being on everyone's new book BF list. As I was reading, the further I got in the story I could see Quinn's signature all over it. She has once again brought us another series of love, devotion, fights and laugh out loud moments.

The Dark Assassin Trik, who soon finds out that the Forest Lords have chosen to put a very human Cassie and him together, accidentally runs into Cassie while she is helping her father out at his office. They find out that they have a connection. That is where our journey begins with the two. And what a journey it turns out to be! Now let’s throw into the mix Elora, Cassie's best friend. One individual that is always dripping with sarcastic charm, strong will and ready to fight the world if it wrongs her.

**Fine, but if you get yourself killed I reserve the right to flush your ashes down the toilet while I sing the theme from Titanic.** Elora

In this book, we have a fight between Dark and Light Elves. Trik has to decide what he wants more, Cassie or his past. Sometimes I wanted to smack him for the decisions he made, when he thought he wasn't good enough for her. Loftis takes us on another spiral journey again with her great way of writing by adding twists and turns throughout this book. Not to mention secrets, even though we learn about Trik’s big secret, I have a feeling there is something more to Elora and her mother. I loved Cassie’s dad and his questionnaire for her boyfriends. LOL This book has great characters, concept and story line. Way to go Quinn!!!

**Is it enough if the love only comes from one side? Is the love of one person enough to conquer the hurt of two?** Cassie

**You are breathtaking after I have loved on you. Cassie rolled her eyes, is that a compliment for me or you? **

Forever Fae by L.P Dover

***Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young adult readers.***

A huge standing ovation for L.P Dover!!!

This Author has created such a wonderful experience for us through her imagination. She has topped the charts, in my opinion, with this Fae novel. Her creativity with the Fae world is delightful. She is able to draw you in immediately and keeps you captivated to the very end. It is almost like she enchants you with her magical words. Her description of details was simply wonderful. I actually wish I could live in this world she created! It is simply beautiful and refreshing!

She also gives us incredible powerhouse characters!! I enjoy the fact that she has set her next book in motion, by bringing the Chosen Four to the table. Calista, who is the Summer Princess, is so strong minded and willing to fight like a Gladiator. But yet has a demeanor of a queen! She is giving, thoughtful, sincere and loving. Marrick is not only her guardian, but is her friend as well. Did I mention the fact that he has a little secret?

Now it is time for Calista to meet Ryder, “Prince of the Winter Court”. Destiny has chosen these two for a greater purpose of the courts. Right away they are drawn to each other. You know, one of those “love or lust at first sight” things. I would liked to have seen the relationship between the two of them drawled out a little more but HEY when you have a Prince as welcoming as Ryder....what is a girl to do right? I mean the whole time I am reading the book, all I could think of was Ryd-HER (or me *snickers*) Anywho just thought I would throw that out there!!

Oh my I got so wrapped up in Ryder I forgot to add the Dark Sorcerer, Alasdair! Of course the Author has a nasty Villain, and NASTY he is indeed. He wants to ravish Calista and make her his Queen. But he also wants to take her powers. I cannot believe he........wait you must read this to find out!

Let’s not even begin to talk about someone dying......be still my heart I was devastated!!!! What a journey!!!! This will be one of my favorite books this year. I was totally engrossed and absolutely loved the ending. Just simple pleasure received from this book actually (No pun intended LOL)!!!

Great debut for L.P Dover. It has different POV perspectives to give you every feel you need! So if you want to know what exactly happens between Calista and Ryder, **wiggling eyebrows** Does the Dark Sorcerer really ravish Calista? And, OMG, who dies???? Read this book!!!! Humor, action, romance and fairies how can you go wrong!!!

I could talk about this book all day however, you need to actually read the whole book to get the experience of it.

Autumn Storm (Witchling Trilogy #2) by Lizzy Ford

The cover resembles the book, AWESOME

First I want to tell you to go grab "Summer Night" (book 1.5 of the Witchling Trilogy), before you read this book. It will answer any question you have, as well as blending the three books together. It starts off at the end of the first book and ends where book two starts. It is a fast read but you will put it down feeling full of knowledge and ready to conquer your deep craving for Autumn Storm.

Lizzy Ford is a spectacular writer! She hits on every want, need and desire a true reader expects to have when picking out a book. The writing and story telling of Lizzy Ford is awesome. Once again another Author that confounds me, as to how her imagination can produce such a story. I will tell you right now Ford will provide you with all your expectations. Probably adding some you didn't even realize you had. What did I already mention that? Well I am saying it again!

I am so ultimately impressed with Autumn, the main character of this book, and how the Author built such a great force of strength with her. Autumn is not your typical beauty at all, in fact she is scarred and marred from all ends. For me, she made this book, she will not accept self pity. The actual strength of her personality, the endurance she accepts daily to recover, as well as the positive believes she has brought a little reinforcement back to me.

I want to give you a little glimpse into book but not give away any juicy details. Yes, before you have a heart attack the Twins are back. Beck is still sweet, kind and loving. Still learning about the new title he has. Where as Decker my gorgeous Decker is fury on wheels. We still have old enemies as well as the yeti Sam. I am sorry but I love Sam. Perfect addition to this series. You are returned back to the school. But now are brought new obstacles, trials, and tribulations you will be sent through. We have some huge secrets, that only limited people know about. Which gave me antz in my pantz wanting to spill the beans. The whole time thinking “someone” would realize, who “someone” really was....nope not happening!

Now what I have to say is this. Up until 6 months ago, I had no idea who Lizzy Ford was. Tsk Tsk Now I am her official stalker. Do not miss out like I did. You will positively LOVE and DEVOUR these books. Then you will turn around and start begging your friends to read the books too!!!

Masquerade by: Cambria Hebert

Shhhhh do you hear that? Wait....what is that.....hello...hello....gasp! OMG, did you see something move? Holy smokes, now I FEEL like someone is watching me. That is the way this book will make you feel.

Anytime you can get so entranced by a book that it actually brings out emotion, the Author did their job. However, with this book, the Author went way beyond creating a story. She created a life that YOU feel you are actually living. She brings you goosebumps and makes you speechless.

Heven......Hate....Hope......Sam were all POVs and done so flawlessly. Hate scared the living potatoes out of me every time it spoke. I could feel the hatred through every word. The Author did an extraordinary job on keeping me baffled as to what everyone was. I am serious, up until the time he announced what he is....my mind was racing with all these ideas. I mean at one point I had him being a fairy dog. Yes, I was inventing my own ideas.

Here is what the Author did: one minute I am reading and saying to myself Ha I know exactly what he is. Then the very next flippin’ paragraph, she places just enough doubt to make me think I was wrong.

So what this Author did was screw with my head, change paths to confuse me, and then twisted my heart to where it wanted to stop beating. Place just the right amount of fear that I couldn't go to the bathroom by myself. So how do I feel: Cambria Hebert has written a flippin’ Best Seller in my eyes!

Each character was very captivating, mysterious, and mesmerizing. This Author brought us action, supernatural elements, and a great love story. You get so sucked into this story, you start shouting get down.....hide....run....do NOT trust her....kiss, KISS, what are you waiting for. Then as soon as you look up and realize everyone is staring at you with their jingle bells and rosy noses, you turn red. Now, because this Author is crazy and wrote a brilliant story, I am embarrassed. Not only did she toy with me, but then as the story comes to a close, she plants just enough information in there to bring on another set of destruction. So you have NO choice but to continue with this twisted but great story.

Oh, wait; you want me to tell you what this book is about. Here goes. I am not telling you a single stinking word. Read it, endure it, and devour it, just like I did. You will love it. Do not read any other reviews. Do not read the blub, the greatest deed you can do is jump in blinded. You will not regret it, that I promise you! This is better than a chocolate biscuit!
